The Alocasia Black Velvet Aurea is one of the most sought-after yellow variegated Alocasias, combining deep velvety leaves with striking silver veins and vibrant golden-yellow variegation. Known botanically as Alocasia reginula, meaning "little queen" in Latin, she truly lives up to her royal name. Care Guide

Give your Alocasia Black Velvet Aurea plenty of bright, indirect light to support strong growth and vibrant colours. Alocasias thrive in slightly moist soil, but don’t like wet feet! Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil starts to feel dry. During spring and summer, feed your Alocasia at half strength with a balanced houseplant fertiliser every two weeks. Your Alocasia loves high humidity, so aim for 60-80% where possible, while maintaining good airflow around the leaves. Only repot when your plant becomes root-bound, moving up to a pot around 3 cm wider in diameter. Always use a light, airy and well-draining soil mix in a pot with drainage holes to keep its roots happy.
