The longer, the better. The Anthurium Vittarifolium is best known for her incredibly long, narrow leaves that become even more spectacular with every new leaf. Native to the tropical rainforests of Colombia and Ecuador, she thrives in the warm, humid jungle, happily hanging from towering trees. Despite her extraordinary appearance, she's one of the easiest rare Anthuriums to grow.

Give your Anthurium Vittarifolium medium to bright, indirect light to support healthy growth and vibrant colours. Allow your Anthurium to hang freely, giving its leaves plenty of space to develop and show off their natural pendant growth. Anthuriums prefer their soil to stay lightly and consistently moist, but don’t like soggy conditions! Water when the surface of the soil starts to feel dry. During spring and summer, feed your Anthurium at half strength with a balanced houseplant fertiliser every two weeks to support healthy new growth. Anthuriums thrive in high humidity, so aim for 60–80% where possible, with good airflow around the leaves. Adding a layer of sphagnum moss around the base of the stem can encourage aerial roots to develop and grow into the moist moss. Only repot when your plant becomes root-bound, moving up to a pot around 3 cm wider in diameter. Always use an airy, chunky and well-draining soil mix that holds some moisture without staying wet, in a pot with drainage holes to keep its roots happy.
