The Alocasia Silver Dragon Aurea is admired for her remarkable dragon scale-like texture, deeply defined dark green veins and vibrant golden-yellow variegation that beautifully complements her silvery foliage. Every new leaf unfolds with a completely unique pattern, making no two plants exactly alike. Native to the tropical forests of Borneo, this selected cultivar of Alocasia Baginda stays beautifully compact, making her perfect for greenhouse cabinets and smaller living spaces. The Alocasia Silver Dragon Variegata is part of the Jewel Alocasia family. Unlike most Alocasia, or Elephant Ear, these plants stay relatively small making them ideal for greenhouse cabinets.

Care Guide

Give your Alocasia Silver Dragon Aurea plenty of bright, indirect light to support strong growth and vibrant colours. Alocasias thrive in slightly moist soil, but don’t like wet feet! Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil starts to feel dry. During spring and summer, feed your Alocasia at half strength with a balanced houseplant fertiliser every two weeks. Your Alocasia loves high humidity, so aim for 60-80% where possible, while maintaining good airflow around the leaves. Only repot when your plant becomes root-bound, moving up to a pot around 3 cm wider in diameter. Always use a light, airy and well-draining soil mix in a pot with drainage holes to keep its roots happy.
