Not sure which size to pick? We use nursery pot diameter as a simple way to help you compare plants and choose the right one for your space.
6 cm pot (plug)
Tiny, cute and full of potential. A great choice if you love watching your plant grow and develop from an early stage.
8–9 cm pot
Still compact, but already nicely established. Perfect for your indoor growth cabinet!
10.5–12 cm pot
More established, fuller and ready to make a statement. The perfect pick if you’re looking for an eye-catcher!
Pot diameter is a helpful indication of a plant’s size, but every variety has its own way of growing. Some naturally grow much larger than others, even when they share the same pot size.

One of a kind. The Musa AeAe Kuikawa is no ordinary banana plant, combining stunning white variegation with lush tropical foliage. As she matures, her leaves can even develop a beautiful soft pink blush. As a Downtown Plant Club exclusive, we named her Kuikawa, the Hawaiian word for “special”. We couldn't think of a more fitting name. Native to the tropical regions of Southeast Asia, banana plants can grow into towering giants with enormous tropical leaves. And just when you think she couldn't get any more special... even her bananas are variegated!
Give your Musa Ae Ae Kuikawa plenty of bright, indirect light to support strong growth and vibrant colours. Musas prefer their soil to stay lightly and consistently moist, especially during active growth! Water when the top layer of soil starts to feel dry, while avoiding soggy conditions. Musas are famously fast growers, so during spring and summer, feed your plant with a balanced houseplant fertiliser every two weeks to fuel all those big new leaves. Musas appreciate higher humidity, so aim for 60% or higher where possible, with good airflow around the leaves. Only repot when your plant becomes root-bound, moving up to a pot around 3 cm wider in diameter. Always use a well-draining soil mix that holds some moisture without staying wet, in a pot with drainage holes to keep its roots happy.
