How to make your Philodendron Florida Ghost WHITER

How to make your Philodendron Florida Ghost look whiter

In recent years, the
Philodendron Florida Ghost has become one of the most popular rare Aroids among plant collectors and we can definitely see why. This iconic Philodendron is known for its funky-shaped leaves but most importantly, its creamy white leaves that gradually turn green. You can’t say no to white leaves!

However, having your Philodendron Florida Ghost produce nicely variegated leaves might be a bit of a challenge at first. What if the new growth remains green? You might even be wonder if your Florida Ghost is really a Ghost instead of a regular Philodendron Florida. The billion dollar question therefore is: how to make your Philodendron Florida Ghost appear whiter?

Philodendron Florida Ghost - Downtown Plant Club
The answer is simple, the recipe for whiter  or mintier leaves is light. When there is a shortage of light, leaves will most likely come out green or at best minty green. Having enough light will stimulate variegation and make your Ghost look whiter. The trick here is  to have a considerable amount of direct light without burning the leaves. We suggest using grow lights for best results!
